Remember how when we were young we were told over and over again how vitamins and minerals were very important? Well, trace elements go in that. Our body functions though various chemical processes and to carry them hay there are essential minerals that are needed. Even though these essential minerals are needed in tiny quantities, we depend on them to live. We need at least 70 essential minerals and if consumed in excess they simply get absorbed.

The best way to obtain them is through a balanced diet with natural foods that contain them. Some of the most important essential minerals and their impact in our health are:

Calcium

It is needed to form new blood cells and develop muscles. It can be found in broccoli, nuts and seeds.

Chlorine

Essential to produce chloric acid in our stomachs. The most common source is salt.

Cooper

Its an integrator of iron, zinc and vitamin C. Our brain depends on it to function and to create energy. Our body needs it to carry out various hormonal processes.

Chrome

It helps us burn fat and regulate sugar levels, without it we are unable to lose weight and would develop diabetes instantly.

Phosphate

Another mineral that is required to create energy and produce new red globes.

Germanium

 Improves blood flow and oxygenation of cells. Often used as an antinflammatory.

Cobalt

Needed to form vitamin B12 and to promote the production of new red globes.

Phosphate

Also needed to create energy. It is also known to contribute to bone formation.

Iron

Helps deliver oxygen in the blood globe. Since it is reusable we only need minimum quantities of it.

Magnesium

Also used to create energy. Magnesium is needed to form and maintain bones.

Potasium

It is considered a systemic electrolyte so it is needed to be able to stay hydrated.

Selenium

It’s a catalyzer for processes like oxidation, hydrogenation and dehydrogenation in organic compounds.

Silicon

Our body needs it to maintain bones, nails, hair and skin.

Sodium

A basic mineral needed to produce energy.

Iodine

Helps maintain a healthy metabolism because it regulates thyroids and estrogen. Its consumption is obligatory for pregnant women.

Zinc

Our system requires it to produce enzymes that are used in all our body functions.
